Supporter subscription

Sown is free, with no time limit. Supporter is an optional weekly subscription billed by Apple through the App Store. It adds unlimited saved verses and up to four profiles on one phone, and it keeps Sown independent.

Restoring a purchase

If you've paid for Supporter but the app shows the Free plan, for example after a new phone or a reinstall, open Sown, go to your account screen, and tap Restore purchases. Make sure the iPhone is signed in to the same Apple Account that bought the subscription. If it still doesn't show, email us with the date of your purchase.

Your verses and progress

Sown has no accounts. Your saved verses, progress, XP and streaks live on your iPhone and nowhere else. That means:

The Verse widget

The home-screen widget shows one of your saved verses and changes every few hours. If it's blank, open Sown once so it can hand the widget your verses. If it isn't rotating, that's iOS pacing widget refreshes to save battery; it catches up on its own. Tap the widget to open that verse in the app.

Reminders

Daily reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone. If none arrive, check that Sown is allowed to notify you in the iPhone Settings app under Notifications, that Focus modes aren't silencing it, and that a reminder time is set inside Sown. Reminders don't need an internet connection.

Recite and the microphone

Recite listens while you say the verse from memory and marks what you got right. It needs microphone and speech-recognition permission, which Sown asks for the first time you use it. If you declined, turn both on in the iPhone Settings app under Privacy & Security. Where your iPhone supports it, recognition runs on the device; see the Privacy Policy for details.

Supported devices

Sown is built for iPhone and needs iOS 26 or later. It installs on iPad and runs in iPhone layout. There is no Android version. If that changes, we'll say so on the homepage first.

Reporting a bug

If something looks wrong, email sownbibleapp@proton.me with what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead. Include your iPhone model, iOS version and the Sown version from the bottom of the account screen. If a verse's text looks wrong, tell us the reference and translation so we can check it against the source.

For how Sown handles your information, read the Privacy Policy. For the rules of the service, read the Terms of Service.
